I love the way shadows dance across the sand from what we call a sand fence. It keeps the sand from blowing away and helps form dunes here in the south. I know it is used for snow up north. That's probably where we got the idea.
Bald Head is North Carolina's oldest lighthouse, built in 1817. Replaced as a navigational light by the Oak Island Light, it has been restored for visitors. It is octagonal and covered in cement over brick which makes it very interesting to paint.
This giclée image from an original watercolor is printed on Arches Hotpress watercolor paper with archival inks. It is presented in a clear bag with a matboard backing.
