About

One of the oldest of Wilmington, North Carolina's art galleries, the Golden Gallery was established in 1977 by Mary Ellen Golden as a brick and mortar gallery in historic downtown Wilmington, NC.

Mary Ellen's son, John W., started selling his work in the gallery at age 11 and has gone one to establish quite a presence on the online handmade marketplace Etsy. Both artists sell there as well as the Golden Gallery, online and in person at 311 North Front Street in Wilmington.

Mary Ellen's husband, John C. Golden, sells his songs and stories on CD at the gallery, and can occasionally be found in the gallery playing his music.

We take great pride in our gallery, our commitment to customer service and in the artworks we sell. Our online store is designed to provide you with a safe and secure environment to browse and buy our work.
