New Golden Gallery Space Opens...

The new Golden Gallery space opened March 1st after a month of upfitting and renovations to what had been Kringle's Korner christmas shop in the Cotton Exchange. We now have increased wall space and workspace and more new work to fill it up!

We have plans in the works for a grand opening sometime as the summer approaches, and should have our first show in the new space starting April 27th, 2007. New work by Mary Ellen Golden will be featured at the first Fourth Friday Gallery Walk of the 2007 season.

Must be something in the water...

Our little block of Front Street is becoming the heart of a regular gallery district! We have long enjoyed the company of Fidler's Gallery and Crescent Moon (a glass art gallery), and this past fall brought the arrival of Knucklebonz Gallery of Art and Music. Knucklebonz features rock concert and publicity photography from several famous and amazing photographers.

Our old space is now occupied by Port City Pottery and Fine Crafts, a collective of local artisans working in pottery, wood, fiber and more. That makes 5 galleries in one city block, 4 in the same building!

Less than a block away, we have New Elements Gallery and Bottega Gallery, and just a few blocks further down Front Street, Three Hounds Gallery and Corporate Canvas are holding down the fort on the south end of downtown. Small Spaces is a great new photography gallery just off Front Street on Princess Street. Two more galleries just one block of Front Street are Peacock and ??????, on Water Street.
